General Social Strike for Cultural Restoration
AXIOMS of GSSCR
- at every level of society, culture is disintegrating- repressive and oppressive elements are both external and internal to organizational units, and both overt and covert- social organizational units and human culture are developing a perverse and contra-symbiotic relationship- techno-mediated-capitalism imposes on organizations a mode of pure co-optation of human community and of human creativity, including any reactionary and/or active cultural reform actions- under these conditions, any benefits conferred on the individual through social participation come at the ultimate expense of continued cultural degradation, and the relationship between any one organizational unit and the individual is becoming increasingly exploitative on the social level
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN GSSCR
- refrain from contributing your energy and value to larger networks, milieux, or events - don't take part in building a "vibe" or a "scene"- continue to attend and support cultural, artistic, and intellectual events and ventures you believe in that are created by communities or artists you feel connection with - concerts, lectures, restaurants, etc- wear simple attire in social/public environments, and adopt a neutral or quiet demeanor- acknowledge friends, while refraining from making social approaches to others- carry GSSCR strike cards- when socially approached by an acquaintance or friend, respond minimally and hand them a GSSCR strike card- when socially approached by strangers, do not respond. Provide a strike card to any persistent or questioning- do not attend privately hosted parties- do not entertain others personally- create cultural, artistic, and intellectual events and ventures of your own in ways that confer a clear, non-social benefit to you personally- maintain your relationships one-on-one and in small groups of established networks- initiate and develop any sexual/romantic relationships with a focus on private desire and/or creative collaboration, practical partnership, etc, rather than enmeshment with social groupings and participation in social events- "down tools" in any social aspects of your paid work and career beyond what is formally required by your position- if you do not make significant income through social media, delete accounts or stop posting new content- if you wield influence on social media, share content related to GSSCR
GSSCR is not a protest or a disruption. It is a non-violent withdrawal action aimed at creating an open space for a renewal of human culture. Any sabotage of events, interference with the social enjoyment of others, interpersonal rudeness or aggression, disturbance of the peace, or other negative engagement with social environments is out of alignment with the goals of the movement.
